Tabs VS Spaces

"So, it's time for our final battle.", said Tab.

The battlefield was... ah heck, just picture a typical Dragon Ball Z style landscape. You know, rocky.

"That's right, it's time to decide which of us is most powerful for programming once and for all!", replied one of the two Spaces.

"LET THE BATTLE BEGIN!", shouted the referee, an Exclamation Mark.

The pair of Spaces began circling around Tab. Tab simply stood there, eyes closed, smiling, not even raising his guard.

"NOW!!!" said one of the Spaces. A split second later, they both moved in at lightning speed to strike Tab down.

"HYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!", *FLASH*, Tab unleashed their energy, sending the two Spaces flying in different directions.

"Ugh... are you... are you alright?" shouted one of the Spaces.

"I've had better days. Dammit. Two Spaces isn't enough. Four spaces is best."

Two more Spaces then emerged from behind a tree and a bush, or two rocks or something. And they all gathered around Tab, their confidence renewed.

"Well, Tab, how do you like these odds?", one of them remarked (I'm not sure "remarked" works there but it sounds right so, y'know whatever).

"Ha... hahahahaha, you FOOLS!". Tab wasn't even slightly worried. "I am a tab, I can be equivalent to as many Spaces as I want!".

Tab began to transform. Growing larger, and larger.

"No, it can't be!", cried one of the Spaces.

Tab was now equivalent to 16 spaces. Yup.

"Now, do you finally see my power?", laughed Tab.

"Guys, it's came to this. We have one more move we can try.", said one of the Spaces.

"No one knows about this technique, should we really show it off?"

"Yes. This is the time."

The Spaces all stood, and concentrated their energy. "Aliiiiignmeeeeent attack"! For you see, Spaces have mastered an ability that Tab had not. Spaces can be used to line up code or text AFTER the initial indentation. And it will look the same everywhere.

"Hyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah", the spaces powering up.

"No, this is impossible!", shouted Tab, alarmed at the Spaces' rising power levels.

"FIIIIRE!!!", all four Spaces released their charged energy into a combined energy beam, it blasted through the air and... direct hit! Tab fell to the ground.

"Ugh... I can still... be useful for... indentation", said Tab with what little energy he had left.

The Spaces, confident in their pending victory began to move in to complete their victory.

"STOP!", said Exclamation Mark (the Ref, remember?).

"Yes?", said Full Stop (who had just been here chilling all along, sorry I forgot to mention them).

"Not you!!! I mean, STOP THE BATTLE!!!", continued Exclamation Mark.

Tab and the four Spaces, about to engage in the last moments of their battle, all turned to Exclamation Mark. "What is it?" said Tab.

"Hasn't this battle taught you all something? There is no need to fight any more.", replied Exclamation Mark.

"Huh? What? What now?", The Spaces whispered between each other. Tab seemed equally confused.

"Tab, you are great for indentation! And Spaces, you are all great for aligning code AFTER the initial indentation! Let's end this war, and start working together!", explained Exclamation Mark.

Tab and the Spaces all looked at each other.

"My god.", said Tab. "He's right, what the heck have we been doing?".

"Yeah!", said one of the Spaces. "From now on, we will work together! And peace will be within the Kingdom".

"HOOOOOORAAAAAAAAAY!", roared the audience, fireworks exploding everywhere. And peace was finally with us.

"The end", said Full Stop (bet ya didn't see THAT coming!).
